How I Generated 48 Event Responses for DELICACIES' Pink Friday at $0.08 Per Response

Generate awareness and measure interest in attending the Pink Friday event.

The Creative

The Creative Breakdown

The advertisement opens on the high streets of Accra at night.

Cars are moving rapidly in the same direction, creating an immediate feeling that:

Something is happening.

The viewer doesn't immediately receive a conventional event flyer or promotional announcement.

Instead, the moving vehicles create a curiosity gap:

"Where is everyone going?"

That curiosity encourages the viewer to continue watching.

The creative then reveals the event location.

The concept was built around the idea of taking the viewer on a journey toward Pink Friday.

The storyline essentially follows:

Accra Streets → Journey → Event Reveal → Crowd → Experience → CTA

The cars moving through Accra represent the beginning of the night.

The transition into the event venue represents the destination.

The people gathered outside represent the atmosphere.

And the event details provide the reason to attend.

This makes the advertisement feel like a trailer for an experience, rather than a simple announcement.

The campaign targeted people aged 18–65+ who could potentially be interested in:

  • Accra nightlife
  • Music events
  • Social gatherings
  • Entertainment
  • Nightlife experiences
  • Fashion and themed events

The campaign's messaging particularly emphasized the social and visual aspects of the event through the Pink Friday theme, nightlife setting and dress code.

The data showed that men generated the majority of the measurable response during the three-day campaign.

The campaign's CTA was designed around the Facebook event response mechanism:

"Hit Interested or Going now and let's paint the city PINK!"

This was strategically aligned with the campaign objective.

The goal wasn't necessarily to make an immediate purchase.

The desired action was:

See the event → Become interested → Select Interested/Going

This allowed DELICACIES to measure audience intent before the event.

Before vs After

Before

DELICACIES needed to create public awareness around the upcoming Pink Friday event.

The business also needed an indication of how many people were interested in attending.

However, the campaign was delayed and ultimately had only three days to run.

This severely limited the amount of time available to build awareness organically through paid advertising.

After

I created a cinematic event advertisement that used Accra nightlife, movement, anticipation and an event reveal to create excitement around Pink Friday.

The campaign then directed viewers toward the Facebook event response action.

In just three days, the campaign generated:

48 Event Responses

$0.08 Cost Per Response

4,249 Impressions

3,439 Reach

$3.75 Total Spend

The campaign therefore provided DELICACIES with measurable audience interest despite the extremely short campaign window.
